I Was Tagged Way Back When By NoR...

So this is the task:

1. Pick up the nearest book.

2. Open to page 123

3. Find the 5th sentence

4. Post the next three sentences

5. Tag five people, and acknowledge who tagged you.

"It's paint remover," Jake said. "That's paint, it's getting removed, what you expect?" I asked, "Can you still make it out?"

I haven't read it yet, but this is Jerome Dickey's "Cheaters" which I plan on reading along with Alice Walker's "The Color Purple" during my travels over the next few days. Hey, I can dream, shut up MrT!!!

Tagging: Anybody who feels like doing this since I procrastinated before posting it.

Welp...off to New Orleans tomorrow!!! Behave while I'm gone please?!

I just had a four-day weekend and only managed to read the introduction and Chapter 1 of the book I had, so no one is pointing fingers.

The Color Purple is a great book. I read it on a bus trip from Dallas to Orlando once. Then I had a college professor make me read it again two years later. It was better when I didn't have to write essays about it.

MrT~I doubt I get much reading done myself! I have committed to reading TCP though, I have wanted to for years!

MRT-you would be divorced now if you did read on that trip!
Tera- I really expected a professional journal from your office, since you say you don't like to read. I'll have to look that book up! Have a wonderful time.

I read The Color Purple all in one sitting. Sure, I'm a nerd, but it's very easy to get lost in.

Have fun in New Orleans.

A-HEM! If you're off to The Big Easy, YOU'RE the one who needs to be told to behave! LOL.

NoR, the Mrs. and I are both readers. On evenings when we are not sitting next to each other on our laptops, we are sitting next to each other reading books. We spent the flight in and the flight back reading until we were allowed to use electronic devices. At that point, my laptop came out and she kept reading.

The Color Purple is a very compelling read, I can understand how someone can read it in one setting. And it has one of the most gripping first lines of any novel I have read, including Anna Karenina.

Tera, do I HAVE to behave???

MRT, how romantic. :-)

Torrance, that one is next on the list, I'm sure.

I'm reading Clive Cussler right now, but probably not for much longer. I can't believe this guy made a name for himself with such cheesy trash.

That's a good book, Cheaters!!!

NoR~You know me, I have to go against the grain! Thanks, and I am! The French Quarter is awesome!

Churlita~I am enjoying it thus far :)

Nance~Why yes, this is true!

MrT~You are very correct about that first line! So do you and the Mrs. blog next to each other?

Torrance~Me too...I've GOT to stop procrastinating!

NoR~I'm sure no matter how much I tell you to behave, you will not listen...you're such a rebel!

Susan~Thanks! Things are going great so far...I'm on my way to Jazz in just a short moment!

Scott~I would be ticked...damn!

Nina~Oh, I know how you love smut!

I read The Color Purple too. Quite a book. However, the long underlines ____________ for Mr's surname were quite annoying. If I read it again, maybe I will white out the underlines and write in his last name (The last name that was used in the movie)

DMarks~That's funny...I think it's annoying too. I haven't finished the book yet, because reading actually gives me a headache, but I will finish it in due time I suppose.

Bossmiggity~Yes I'm back...thanks! :)
