What A Weekend!!!
I know it's been a while since I've been on fellow bloggers...and thanks for all two of the dear friends I've made since I began blogging for noticing and checking on me! :) The truth is that between the trip to Myrtle Beach (which was a mix of excitement AND a tad bit of...well you'll hear about it later) and my dental work yesterday...I was in no shape to do much of anything, but I miss you guys, so thank goodness I'm back!
Let me start from the beginning...
We geared up to leave on Thursday night. We packed everything we needed clothes, swim gear, snacks, and..."female unmentionables!" Yes I said it, female unmentionables! After all that hard work at my swimming lessons and psyching myself up to actually GET IN the ocean this time and not just stand there and look at it, my bitc* decided to pay me a visit at the most inopportune time one could imagine...
Our travel partners arrived Friday evening and we packed up the truck. Of course there are a select few items that decided to pull a random disappear act because I needed to pack them, but I did not let that foul my mood. We were off to bed for our 4:30 a.m. departure...NOT! Let's just say that for some odd reason I got sick, and the "porcelain god" had my undivided attention until at LEAST that time, and we were almost 2 hours late leaving...
The drive went fairly smoothly...other than the fact that I now have to pay about as much for a gallon of gas as I have to for a shot of rum, nothing else seemed to piss me off. Me and my friend rotated as planned, and hey, I even got a nap in when it was my turn to drive! It was gravy (except for those bastard ass mountains in TN and NC)!!!
We arrive...I don't know if I mentioned that there was 6 of us...and that we booked this room at the Hilton IN FEBRUARY through our travel agent...it was as big as the standard restroom stall (not the handicapped one...sorry to spoil the fun Mist)!!! The beds were fit for a dollhouse, and with my big ass, I nearly had to walk sideways JUST to get to the patio! I went to the desk spewing off all the amenities the website said they had, and what was in the room which I KNOW I had my travel agent book, and their simple reply was, "Oh, that was 2 years ago, we don't have that anymore...and as far as the room, we're booked" and then as I watched yet ANOTHER customer come to the desk because they were placed in the wrong room, I asked for a manager. Those of you who know me KNOW (shut up Nina)...I DON'T LIKE POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! Let me just make a long story short(er)...after 2 hours of escalating the situation as far as I could, we ended up next door, at the Embassy, for the same price, with all the amenities we expected and MORE (I LOVE free stuff!), and a better ocean view. I will be working this morning on getting more when I call 1-800-HILTONS...
After that got settled, things went great! It was Bike Week, so we met lots of yummy looking men, ate some good food, saw some interesting sites, and had a blast at the resort!!! There was no other mishap...except my friend's son screaming for help BEFORE even entering the Ripley's Haunted Adventure, thus we looked like asses asking if we could go in the museum in its stead.
I cried most of the way home due to the built up anxiety of having to go to the dentist. I had to stop on the way to my house to get the drugs which were supposed to keep me nice and happy while they worked (Dagromm, I guess I didn't appreciate it as much as most). During well over 5 hours of drilling, cutting, stabbing, and random sprinkles of additional meds under my tongue (since said $345 pill wasn't working as well as it should have), I was free to go...I think I fell at least twice and bumped into walls that have been in my apartment since I moved here. I slept most of yesterday, and now here I am! My upper and lower jaw still can't seem to find each other...but I'm good!
So after that long post, in comments, more inopportune events, reactions to poor customer service (piggybacking one of the more recent posts at the Fringe), and tampon stories.

I had teeth implants, which required drilling holes in my jaw bone, thinking back on the pain, I should have had breasts implants,at least that way the pain would have been for "fun" reasons.the up side ... the pain drugs were enjoyable and I have a fabulous smile.
Es~Well that's great that it worked out for you. That is almost inconceivable!!! I will stop whining now...I guess it could have been worse!
You need two things: the NuvaRing which will not only be the most convenient and awesome birth control you've never heard of, you can also control when your monthly friends shows up. No more surprises. You also need a stat counter so you'll know when your blog people are looking for you even if they don't leave a comment.
Welcome back!
Fringes~Thanks for the tips! I tried Depo before, but it made my hair fall out which they said the NuvaRing would do as well?? How do I get this stat counter? I alarmed so many in my absence ;)
Glad to be back!
So glad to hear that your trip went well and you wern't attacked by the giant cockroaches!!
Hold on the the meds for a time when they can be used for recreational purposes. Maybe then you'll find them more useful :)
Nina~Have you been talking to Reylene?
HA! How'd you guess?!?!?
Nina~You're forgetting I was with her that day! You should have seen her pupils! LMAO!!!
How horrible! No a** at the beach?! What's the point of a vacation? How about a horrible line that I heard someone using over the weekend to cheer you:
"I'm like redbull baby.."
"uh..how?"
"Red Wings and me just gooo together"
Hope your upper and lower jaw find each other soon!
Bad customer service is a major hot button for me. Everyone I know will tell you that I will raise hell and swear off places for a bad experience. The places that I won't do business with include Burger King, Taco Cabana, Target, and Mervyn's. I know there are others as well.
I have spent HOURS on the phone with Customer Service lines lodging complaints, and I don't go away. The worst part is that I'm really easy to get a long with, but when you can't reach even my low expectations then there is a problem. And don't even come to me with "that's our policy", because I will be the first to tell them how assinine their policy is.
Ooooh sorry. Like I said, "hot button".
Susan~That was a definite pick-me-upper (no pun intended)!!!
Dagromm~No need to further examine our relationship...I am willing to put the Chinese food thing! You and I are nearly one in the same!
That is put the Chinese food thing "aside..."
I just stayed in a hotel with the most complicated check in policies ever. All "optional" fees were mandatory. If I had known, I would have put off of my luggage in the safe, left the phone off the hook, watched movies all night long, and took the breakfast buffet to go.
From now on, I'm staying with my preferred hotels.
Mist1~And you talked about liking ME more and more...the feeling is so mutual.
I wish I had consulted with you before leaving
Admittedly, I'm still worried about the Gemini thing. The stars can be a fickle thing.
Tera: When I heard it I burst out laughing. The only better thing was a line used on me that would make absolutely no sense to anyone outside of West Virginia. Normally I can hold it together to be polite...this time, however, I laughed directly in someone's face.
Dagromm~ :)
Susan~And you had every right to! LOL!
depo is one of the biggest pharmecutical mistakes in recent history! i gained 45 pounds in sic months and became ~very~ bitchy. as in 'i know i'm being a bitch but i can't stop myself' bitchy.
check out blogger's stat counter. or do what i did and copy the html off of briliant donkeys and use that one. lol
dags, 'company policy' is code for get out of my face asshole, i'm done dealing with you. i ~hate~ when management tries to use that.
opps, make that six months.
oh and dags, i ~married~ a gemini, suck it up and be a man about it.
kiddo, j used to call it red wings, looong before red bull came out. i used to tell him, fine, just cause you have a name for it doesn't mean i have to allow it. lol
Heather~Tell me about it!!! I got 1 shot, and I was through with that shit...the Depo that is (hee hee)
Heather - "Company policy" is a cop out answer that means, "I don't care and I'm not going to try to do what's right". I've responded to these people before that my "policy" is that I don't let companies steal from me no matter what their policy is. I try not to resort to profanity, but I've been known to drop the F Bomb. I've gotten hung up on a few times.
Dagromm~Don't feel bad, a close friend of mine has been escorted and almost literally CARRIED out of the Sprint Store!!!
Heather thank you for letting Dagromm know that fear (of the Gemini) doesn't go well with his attire ;)
Oh, tera! I am SO all over that lousy customer service crap. Good for you for getting better digs. I do that on the side in addition to teaching--professional bitching is the slang term for it. Sounds like you'll never need my services.
And as far as the dental work goes...poor thing! How hideous. I am so sorry.
Take good care and feel better...er...in all areas...real soon!!
Nance~Thanks! "Professional Bitching..." I love it! It has a nice ring to it!!! :)
I'm glad that everything turned out okay in the end. I hate lousy customer service too and will certainly write a letter with many cc'd!
Anali~Amen sister!
