Hodge Podge III

Well finally, the avatar madness is over! And who woulda thunk it'd be "Girl (With Boobage) On Cell Phone?" It was a close race with "Mermaid in Thought..." as the latter seemingly fit my blog title more since she appears to be pondering. Or does the prevailing avatar qualify for the perusing vote...meaning guys get past the boobage and recognize the poinsettia in the background...and she has on a sleeveless shirt...must be a warm climate.

Anyways, in the Life and Times of Tera, I have been recently faced with a dilemma. How old is too old for a "significant other?" I recently met a really nice guy, and I am totally convinced that hadn't he told me his age, things would be different (other than the pisstivity involved had he been dishonest)!!! He has asked me on several dates since meeting me, which I have gone on two, but I just can't help but wondering if it looks like I'm having dinner with my dad??? I mean technically, a guy CAN be a daddy at 13 right? I mean he is just a few years younger than my mother! I mean...okay, to hell with it...I will let you guys have at it.

As the middle class in this society ceases to exist, I wonder how fair it is that gas prices are rising, child care costs as much as the average mortgage payment, and cereal is soaring near and or at around $5/box!!! Where is the motivation to get ahead in this life if the more you make, the more prone you are to be in Wednesday's soup line?

It's almost time for school to start back, and I LOATHE school shopping!!! I mean why in the hell do they need 2 each (ROYGBIV---don't get it twisted) of pocket folders, a ton of glue sticks, 3 boxes of tissues, and get this...a disposable camera! Glade plug-ins are on the "wish list..." I'll tell you what, unless I can file the rest of the class on my taxes, they know where they can shove this said wish list!

In other news, STRESS is kicking my ass! I lost 5 lbs in the past week (I'm not proud since stress isn't a healthy way to lose weight)!!! My job is driving me crazy, and the work load is piling up! How in the hell am I supposed to find time to blog?!?!?

Why can't I hit the lottery? I suppose one of the prerequisites is actually PLAYING the lottery, but who in the hell needs the middle step(s)?

I also see that Colonix is taking the nation over by storm...sorry, but I won't be posting pictures of my BM's on a website for the entire world to see! Um ewwww...that's hurlage (I made that word up)!

In comments...what's going on in your worlds, what's on your mind, and when did Ex-Lax lose it's popularity?

*chokes* Glade is on the wish list? Is the teacher trying to imply that the kids smell? Or maybe the teacher stinks?

I bought the school supplies on my own exactly once. Now I buy the packet put together by the PTA. Costs more money, saves my last shred of sanity. I ain't fightin' with some trashy mama over that last freakin' glue stick.

Work has been interesting for me as well. I'm just waiting for the co-workers to come back from surgery recovery/vacation so I can have my turn.

Hi Tera! I've been a bit overwhelmed by stuff myself over the past few weeks. I thought that these were supposed to be the lazy hazy days of summer? Oh well. I'm going to Blogher in Chicago next week! That should be fun, but I have a ton of things to do first. But I wanted to catch up with my blogpals first! Have a great weekend! ; )

THREE boxes of tissues? If each kid brings these in, where the hell is the teacher going to store all 60+ boxes? Geeze. I can see asking for one box per kid. Then, ask again after Christmas break if needed.

The disposable camera is surely for a nice little photo surprise here and there for later on: Christmas card, Mother's day, "Look how I used to look on the first day", etc.

But I hear you: BTS shopping is killer. My boys now REALLY bitch about it since they pay top dollar for college textbooks. Remember THOSE days?

first, let me congratulate you on your new stalkerific avatar. :-)

'goof' on the wish list and send in a deoderant stick instead. ;-)

do you like him? does he like you? does he treat you with respect? do you respect him? do you enjoy spending time in his company? if so then don't worry about what we think. just take it one step at a time. who knows where it will lead. just enjoy the trip.

Hi Tera...

thank you for passing by my little known blog....

do you even like the "mature" man? that's all that counts...

yea money sucks....it's like what's the point of getting paid more if all you're gonna do is take it for taxes to do what you want....and then you wanna raise gas prices...

yea the lotto should be handed...i've paid too much for the lotto over the years....

anyhow...i gotta go..thanks for stopping by!

D Dub~SOMEBODY must stink huh? Good point!

A lady was at my work the other day talking about those PTA packages saying she saved over $35 getting the stuff herself! That was all I needed to hear, especially when I have 2 kids!

Kofi~I hear ya! Hell I might even begin mine BEFORE their asses return!

Anali~Have a great time!!! :)

Nance~And it really pisses me off, because on the last day of school, all they returned was paper, crayons, and pencils...they don't even send the unused stuff back home and then turn around the next year and ask again!!! I understand that some kids may not be able to afford it, so they probably use it to compensate for that, but hey, I can BARELY affort it myself!

The photos are nice, except I'm a person that takes FOREVER to get the damned things developed!

College supplies may have been the leading cause for an ulcer I think I remember.

Heather~Thanks! She's not thickalicious, nor does she have that chocolate thunda, but it's growing on me! Oh yeah, that reminds me I forgot to thank Dagromm, My Sweet, for contributing that suggestion!

I may not send a damned thing at all!

The guy was cool at first, but he started trying to move too fast...not to mention, he pulled a move that was a tad bit stalkerish (my friends disagree, and think I'm LOOKING for something to be wrong with him)! I'm not sure if I want to be more than friends, but I am very careful not to lead him on!

Gyuss~Imagine that...there ARE more than boobs in that photo!

Aviana~Yeah, gas prices make my ass hurt!

I know a lot of people who put booku money in the lottery...hell by the time they hit, it will just be a break-even!!!

I say take your time with the guy. Age doesn't matter to me (to a point)...If they're old enough to be my granddad they'd better have some money to back that thing up. ;)

Oh..and if you hit the lotto..don't forget your poor sister from another mother.

Tera said...

Susan~LMAO! You're silly!

There's a Poinsetta?

Gunfighter~Welcome to P&P!!! Are you and Gyuss related?

Nina said...

Tera...where is your post Potter analysis?! That is all that is on my mind! And I'll have you know that your phone call yesterday set me back and I wasn't able to finish reading as early as I'd have liked to. But really...it was nice talking to you :)

Seriously, if Dev came home with glade plug ins on the wish list I'd be calling the school board. I think that some teachers put shit on those lists so they don't have to by stuff for their own homes.

Nina said...

Oh yeah, I know it's been a while since I've seen you but...have you lost some pigmentation? You avitar is...:)

I think too old for any woman equates to one day older than me. Have you let the guy know that this isn't going anywhere, because I have dibs. I just feel like you ought to be honest with the guy.

School lists suck, but they can be done at your leisure. Don't feel the need to buy it all at once. Hell, I've been working on my son's first grade supply list for five years now. I'm just some popsickle sticks away from having it completed. They put all of that stuff on the list because they know not everyone is going to buy it

Tera said...

Nina~You needed a break...I fear that you're borderline obsessive when it comes to Potter!

I agree...and have decided that other than the essentials, they can dismiss any thoughts of receiving wish-list shit from my household!

Trust me Nina, you don't want to drudge up any of the resentments that I harbor or unresolved issues about my avatar not possessing the prerequisite chocolate thunda that it takes to be me!!! I am going to suck it up and be happy, because that was a contribution from Dagromm, My Sweet! :)

Dagromm~I will make sure that he understands dibs in its entirety...and didn't I hear somewhere that an older lover can give you worms???

LMAO @ your comment about the school list!!! You're right, and you know what everyone ELSE can buy the shit, because if it ain't paper, glue, scissors, markers, or crayons, it ain't gettin got!!!

AVIANA said...

hey,

thanks for stopping by.... i really appreciated your comments...have a nice day...and please give us an update on what's going on with you... :)

Tera said...

No problem...will do!

Susan said...

alright woman...I gave you a week minus me hounding. Are you still kickin?

Dagromm said...

Damn!!!! That other dude must have gotten mad that dibs was already called on her!!

Tera said...

Susan~Most certainly!

Dagromm~Quite the contrary :)

Susan said...

I'm going to tell myself you're super busy with gathering school materials and not start feeling like my sister from another mother has been abducted by aliens. Even then I'm pretty sure they'd let you blog. :(

Tera said...

Susan~With all the Potter talk going on, I figured I'd take a bit of a break...I couldn't contribute to those conversations! I've seen a mix of a few new topics now though, so, I'm back...damn, now I have to think of what my next post will be! :)

And for the record....if aliens had abducted me, I'm sure they would have brought me back immediately, LOL!

Susan said...

I posted a picture of me, Tera. MWHAHAHAHAH

heather said...

who cares what it's about! just post damn it! even if it's one of those cheater posts about what candy you are or something. better yet, if you are truely not feeling it copy my latest post and paste it up here. ~seriously~ it's important and i know you have quit a few people who read your stuff who haven't stopped by my place. or who have but don't care for it.

come to think of it, post it anyway. the word needs to be spread.

Kofi said...

Oh yeah... I think Ex-Lax lost its popularity when some genius looked in the bathroom mirror and discovered the power of the finger [and/or toothbrush handle].

Tera said...

Susan~You are so fantabulous (I'm sure Heather appreciates yet ANOTHER made up word)!

Heather~By golly you're right! I shall commence by Friday!

Kofi~Ewwwwww!
